SLOW DANCE
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
!
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say,'Hi'
You'd better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift..
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Do take it slower
Hear the music
Before the song is over.
i dont know who this poem is by i was sent it and told it was written by a person dieing of cancer. sadly it was a scam emailr however the poem that was sent with it was beautiful so i saved it
The Changling by Leah Bodine Drake
In the wild, black night;
On the wings of the owl
I take my flight,
On the ghostly wings of the great white owl;
And whether the night be fair or foul,
Or the moon be up or the thunder growl,
Happy I be,
Happy I be
When the changeling blood runs green in me!
When meek folk sleep
In their dull, soft beds,
I creep over roots
That the weasel treads,
Where the squat green lamps of the toadstools glow -
And only the fox knows the ways I go,
And nobody knows the things I know ....
Wise I be,
Wise I be
When the changeling blood runs green in me!
O Mother, slumber
And do not wake! ...
Thin voices called
From the rain-wet brake,
And the child you cradled against your breast
Is out in the night on the black wind's crest,
For only the wild can give me rest ....
Sad I be,
Sad I be
When the changeling blood runs green in me.
i do not claim ownership to this
i just LOVE this poem
All Hallowed
Call forth the beast
Drink to all-hallows
And drink to the feast
Call out the zombies
The daffs, and the dukes
Break all the chains
On the old Kriadnük
Fight for the demons
Pray for the creeps
Steal all their bones
And eat all their meat
The pastor our leader
Lead forth, us all
We follow your lead
Are in awe of your gall
Bring us above god
We will beat all the rest
Break all the latches
On Pandora‘s chest
The demons spill out
We all writhe in pain
Did we make a mistake
Is this all just a game
Darkened Phoenix
She moves like the swan
In the lake above me
I watch as my world darkens
The chill of the black surrounds me
I feel the clamminess on my skin
It is like floating to space
So wonderful yet enclosing
Back to earth I feel it leave
Deaths black hands follow me
Something, keeps him at bay
Waiting at the peir
On his deep crimson cigar boat
A simple message floats by
Breath, life, love
Breath, life, love
Breath, life, love
Silence
The blackness closes
I feel it close in again
This is what I see
Darkness, darkness
Death cackles, he grasps
And clutches my chilled beating heart
This is my life now, this is all I am
This is the darkness
I am the darkness
I stretch out my hands
And encompass the world
One spot, one stand
I walk as a creature
The monster in the night
I walk forth, see a black box
And stop, a mirror
But now all there is, is black
“Bam” an explosion
Power surges forth
But I cleans me
But it clears me
I feel the power
It flows through me
But I cannot grasp
The power flows
Flowing with the swan
But it stays, waits
And extends its hand
Pure light, an entity
A ghost of memories that came
Crouches like a tiger
Sooths as a mother
Back to life
Death fights for
HIS prize, he holds on like
A spoiled child to candy
Death combs the world
Locking me in, trapping me
A treat to his everlasting web
Bringing the black widows kiss
My Memoirs
And into the storm
I feel for the cold
But find what is warm
A screech through the night
I die when it’s light
This is the end
We lost my dear friend
The gallows are strung
Executioners paid
And finally, I am afraid
Where there is honor
Prejudice will follow
But inside my heart
All is just hollow
For what we have done
We will die
I lay down my head
And die as I cry
Night Messengers
Rush, rush
The lights go out
The pattering of cat’s feet
The steady beat of owls wings
I hear them
I feel them
I join them
I fly out to infinity
Rush, rush
Rush, rush
Walk on the paws of the leopard
Through the whispering rainforest
Soar on the wings of the eagle
Over the howling canyon
Fall on the wings of the falcon
Past the skyscrapers screaming mouths
A black hush falls
There here
Scurry away with the mice
A steady beat pulses me
I fall off the edge
Landing as a rat
I creep through a sea of gavels
“SMASH” with the power
Of a thousand blows
an amoeba
I fall through a crack
To be absorbed by as single drop of rain
I fall to the earth and land
As the gush of water that wakes me up
Out of the Fire and Into the Inferno
Into the night
I creep for my life
Into the sun
I feel yet a yearning
Out of the dark
I fall
Because of my life
Because of my fall
Because we must see
Because I lost it all
It takes only one
To cause that first trip
For me it was less
My life starts to flip
Out of the fire
And into the flames
I walk through it all
But forget all the names
This is my life
This is my fall
This is the end
And that. is it all
